Zaid Gayle, Executive Director/Co-Founder
A co-founder of Peace4Kids, Zaid Gayle is a powerful voice for foster children and is well-known both locally and nationally among advocates. Zaid currently charts the course for Peace4Kids, serving as a tireless advocate for the youth served by the organization. As Executive Director, Zaid oversees an ambitious organizational growth plan, with the intended impact of helping foster and at-risk youth transition successfully into adulthood. As the former Executive Director of the Rowell Foster Children's Positive Plan, Zaid brought together a remarkable coalition of corporations, foundations, celebrities, and community leaders in support of foster care in Los Angeles . Every Saturday for the last five years, Zaid has led the opening and closing activities for up to 50 foster and at-risk children at Peace4Kids. Zaid is universally respected by the volunteers, the Board, and foster parents. But most importantly, the foster children look up to Zaid as a role model. This single trait will spell success for Zaid in his role, and for the programs operated by Peace4Kids.

Deshawne Coleman, Administrative Assistant
DeShawne is a native of Los Angeles and the mother of two young girls. She has a strong passion for the greater welfare of children in foster care, which stems from her own life experience. Having been placed in foster care at an early age herself, she has a firm and clear understanding of what our youth experience and deal with. With plans to develop and start her own catering business, DeShawne hopes to be a model for all the girls at Peace4Kids so that they will believe that investing and believing in their dreams will lead to their greater success regardless of their circumstances.
