The Mentor Program at Peace4Kids is an important addition to our array of programs. The more support young people receive from their community, the more likely they are to lead successful lives. At Peace4Kids we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to unlock their potential and succeed. Our mentors are trained to recognize each child's gifts and help them utilize them in a way where they experience success. It is through each success that Peace4Kids is able to inspire our children and make positive goals and determine the appropriate steps that will lead to accomplishing them.

In this manner, we are able to combat the alarming trend of foster youth not transitioning into adulthood as a contributing member of society.  In California, statistics suggest that 50% of emancipated foster youth did not finish high school, 45% are unemployed, 33% are arrested and 25% are homeless.  It is also proven that youth who are connected to a caring mentor who plays a consistent role in their life have a greater chance of success. Peace4Kids provides that person for every teen in our program so that none of them are led to failure, but instead are given the formula for success.  If you are interested in being a Peace4Kids mentor please review the requirements by viewing our volunteer section for mentoring.
