 In the recent election one of the major topics of discussion was about corporate America and their impact on the economy. Let us not forget however that at the foundation of every corporation is the lives of the people that work there. As we move through some tough economic times I am grateful that we have received some incredible support from employee driven campaigns at various corporations, who have stepped up and supported us both locally and nationally.
Peace4Kids was the honored recipient of the Time Inc. Employee Give Back campaign. The employees dedicated a portion of their salaries to our efforts and raised nearly $70,000 for our organization.
At California Edison, two different employee campaigns hosted themed activities and events to raise money for Peace4Kids. From a Bowl-a-thon to a day where employees purchased $10 tickets to show up to work in casual wear the activities raised nearly $7,000.
Additionally we have had our P4K volunteers launch their own mini-employee giving campaigns with donations or matching gifts through their companies. Corporations like Roll International, Kaplan Inc., The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, and Watson Land Company have all become a part of our corporate family of support.
Regardless of the size of the gift, we at Peace4Kids value every penny. For us, each donation is an acknowledgment from so many people across the country that they believe in what we do and want to willingly invest in our continued success.
